Steve has been head honcho at Te Rapa Auto Electrical for three years now, and with a background in Honda, Mercedes, BMW, Chrysler, Dodge, Suzuki, and Isuzu dealerships, he really knows his stuff. He originally discovered us through a Google search when he had an instrument cluster that wasn’t working.
“I chatted with Tess, she was amazing, and very knowledgeable. You never get an “I don’t know” when you ring Get Electronic. We use them for BCM coding and repairs, and control model cloning. Anything we can’t repair, or I can’t find a replacement part for, I send it down to them, and it works! There have been a few misses, but we’re all human.
I remember once we had a vehicle with a check engine light on, four different mechanics had worked on it, and we suspected a faulty dash cluster. I called Dave and sent it down. The cluster was a mess, and the board was destroyed. It was this old nineties Nissan; the cluster was effectively DOA and somehow they fixed it. All the boys down there are fantastic. There’s not a single one of them that isn’t fantastic!”
When asked how the quality of Get Electronic’s work stacks up in comparison to other companies he’s used in the past, Steve reckons the percentages speak for themselves.
“Some of the others are 50/50 whether they work on return (most companies are unable to test components themselves, so they’ll often send them back with their fingers crossed). They’ll say, ‘we’ve done what we can’, and it might work! David’s really proactive, and that’s why he has a much higher success rate.”
Steve recommends us to others all the time, and reckons the only way we could improve our service is by eliminating the courier side of things – not sure how we’re going to do that sorry Steve!
